Under: Blockages

This is a repost from my original blog as I am moving its content as quickly as my host will allow me, I felt it would be great to revisit some of my older, perhaps more naive posts :-) ...enjoy!

Several of my clients come to see me because they don't feel they have the resources necessary to have what they want in life. They honestly don't believe that they can do those simple things that would make them happy in their everyday life.
I have found that when those clients come to see me for a self-confidence building session that my best bet has always been to ask them about both their professional and personal goals. The reason I do this is so that I can gauge subtle changes in their perception of their dreams and desires. This is a very sneaky way that I found to move them towards eliminating their Self-limiting Beliefs using various NLP and Conversational Hypnosis techniques.
I have taken multiple disciplines and blended the strongest elements into different categories in which people fall into. I will not go into details as to how the process work as it is still under development and a paper is being written on it in my spare time. But even if the client would have read this post and look for a pattern in what I am doing I would simply seamlessly move to a different pattern.
Using these techniques in a covert manner in combination with formal hypnotic inductions (Formally hypnotizing the client) I am able to determine what obstacles in the clients mind are simply Self-Limiting Beliefs. Often in life we see people over react to a problem that we see as trivial and lets not delude ourselves, to them the problem is real as they may not perceive the problem the same way you might or might not have the same resources available to them in order to fix this issue.
What I do is help people get rid of emotional blockages that are simply keeping people from reaching their highest potential and to put things in perspective.
I want to share a story now, there was this experiment where people were locked into a room and told that there was a way to get out. Also there was a sign that said that the door would unlock if they made a certain number of points within a given amount of time although there was no mention as to what the points would be given for. The people started to do random things and sometimes they would get a point, the people got all excited and started trying to repeat their actions to get more point. An other interesting thing is that the doors had been unlock a few minutes after the experiment had started and on the ceiling a sign said that the first person to simply walk out of the room would get a much greater reward then the one for playing the game. The experiment ended with no one trying the door again or noticing the sign on the ceiling in addition everyone thought they had found what the pattern to get points had been saved for one. In reality the point were completely random and their actions had no bearing on anything.
This story shows us how we tend to rely on our perception of reality and not reality itself, what I help you do is see things in perspectives and this is all part of my life coaching and self-confidence sessions.
